Hard Core Sudoku 500+ is made for solvers who finish ordinary Sudoku books in an afternoon. Every puzzle in it is rated Hard or Very Hard, so there are no warm-ups: the real challenge starts on page one.
The book holds more than 500 classic 9x9 Sudoku, printed at 8.5 x 11 inches. The rules are the familiar ones: fill every row, column and 3x3 box with the numbers 1 to 9. At this level, though, simple scanning usually isn't enough, and candidate techniques such as pairs and X-Wings come into their own.
